Another FREE payment gateway
Google is making its presence count in the whole World Wide Web. This time, they have launched a FREE payment service known as Google Checkout.
Google checkout is a checkout process that you integrate with your website, enabling your customers to buy from you quickly and securely, using a single username and password. And once they do, you can use Checkout to charge their credit cards, process their orders, and receive payment in your bank account.
If you are comparing Google checkout with Paypal, here are some of its advantages:
- More exposure to the public
If you are using Google AdWords to promote your site, you can now add a Google checkout badge to your AdWords ads, which highlights your store and tells potential customers that shopping with you will be convenient and secure. You can get an extra boost from your AdWords ad. You are not able to get that kind of attention with Paypal
- Convenient checkout
Using the same Google username and password, you can now provide a much easier and faster transaction process for your customer. Paypal still requires all their customer to provide a lengthy sign up process
- Process sales for FREE
This will last until the end of 2007. As of now, this is the only FREE payment gateway around. Paypal is not totally free as they do charge a fee for every transaction
- Integrate with Google Base
If you don’t have a website, you can still sell your product on the Google Base. With the integration of Google base and Google checkout, you don’t even need a website to start making money. Google base is an online store where you can list your product for free. The payment is connected to Google checkout. Paypal requires you to have a website to place their checkout button.
Regardless of which payment gateway you are using now, it pays to find out more about Google Checkout. Since their branding are well known Worldwide, your potential customer might find your site more credible if you are using a payment gateway that they know and trust.
